Bethel's tripod is on the river waiting for breakup. The creator broke down his design.
Bethel’s annual Kuskokwim Ice Classic is underway. Most predictions have the tripod moving downriver in mid-May. When it falls, it’ll clock the official start of break, unofficial start of spring and the 2023 break-up bash. The tripod’s creator Eric Whitney walked KYUK through his design.
