Lifeguards are heroes after pulling children to safety
Lifeguards Shawna Patterson and Mitchel Jones did an in-water rescue along with Roseanna Sammet. Two girls, ages eight and nine, were sent to Royal Inland Hospital Tuesday afternoon after being rescued from McDonald Park Pool in North Kamloops. The friends were swimming in the outdoor pool at about 2 p.m. when one of them started to struggle in the deep end, said lifeguard Roseanna Sammet.
