A flood warning for low-lying communities in Sydney's southwest has been upgraded after heavy rainfall across the city. Waters are continuing to rise on the Nepean River in Menangle, near Campbelltown, with the Bureau of Meteorology upgrading its flood warning to 'moderate'. The Nepean is now expected to peak at 9.2 metres at around 4pm this afternoon - almost three metres higher than forecast earlier today.
