COLUMBIA, Mo. — The University of Missouri will demolish eight buildings and move two museums back to the main campus as part of a plan to reduce space the school uses and to save money, officials announced Thursday.
University spokesman Christian Basi said the moves are the beginning of the university's Space Reduction and Strategic Relocation Plan, which has been discussed for years.

These MU buildings are set to be demolished in a year to 15 months

Set to be demolished are Parker Hall, Noyes Hall, Read Hall, Loeb Hall, London Hall, Neff Annex, the Columbia Professional Building and the Old Student Health Building.
Mizzou North, on Business Loop 70, will be vacated. A buyer is being sought.
"Through this plan, we are eliminating space costs that allow more funds to be reinvested back into our research and educational missions," said Gary Ward, vice chancellor for operations, in a news release.
The Mizzou North sale will eliminate the largest amount of deferred maintenance among the projects, nearly $55 million.
The building demolitions come after the opening of some new ones, including the 47,000-square-foot, $24 million Jeanne and Rex Sinquefield Music Center a year ago. There also is the new Center for Missouri Studies and State Historical Society of Missouri.

MU Health reschedules postponed COVID-19 vaccinations for Thursday and Saturday

MU Health reschedules postponed COVID-19 vaccinations for Thursday and Saturday
Several Missouri health departments and hospitals are preparing to administer extra vaccinations this week, the result of postponed appointments necessitated by last week's brutal winter weather.
MU Health Care on Tuesday received its shipment of 4,000 Moderna doses originally scheduled to arrive last week. The hospital announced that last week's postponed vaccination clinics have been rescheduled for Thursday and Saturday inside the Walsworth Family Columns Club at Faurot Field.
“Those who had appointments postponed last week are being contacted with new appointment information for this Thursday or Saturday,” said Brad Myers, MU Health Care director of pharmacy and laboratory services.
