Taiwan exports to China drop by 30%
Taiwan's exports to China (including Hong Kong) were only US$34.3 billion from January to March 2023, a 30.6% decrease from the same period the previous year, according to Taiwan's Ministry of Economic Affairs. Aside from decreasing demand due to terminal inventory concerns, the US' broader export restrictions targeting China's high-tech industry may have had an impact.
