breaking news hello everyone. thanks for joining me on. alison chemla, radha, and for fredricka whitfield, we have an exciting program for you today because within the next half an hour, we expect to witness the first ever boeing starliner spacecraft launched from cape canaveral, florida to the international space station. this is not a practice run this its launch has to american astronauts on board but officials and spectators are holding their breath a bit because this mission was already postponed a few times, veteran nasa astronauts, butch wilmore and suni williams are on board. and boeing is trying with this to compete with its rivals space x as nasa tries to collaborate with private industry partners. if successful, suni williams would become the first woman aboard any crewed test flight like this years of work has gone into this moment and it has not been without setbacks, as i ve mentioned. so let s bring in space and defense correspondent kristin fishe ....

Been looking for an excuse to impeach this president for a long time now. In fact, when they took over the house pardon of the interruption here. Im going to step out here at the top of the hour, but our coverage of the impeachment proceedings continue now on msnbc. Stay with us. Its all about politics, hurting the president , hurting his reputation. They dislike him intensely. As i mentioned the other day, they really loathe this president and theyre trying to hurt his chances in the next election. But one of my real concerns, and i have a lot of them about this whole thing, and i mentioned this earlier today, im very concerned about is that the democrats are really lowering the bar for impeaching a president in the future. Its becoming too routine. Its becoming the new normal. For 200 years in our nation we had one impeachment, one in 200 years, Andrew Johnson. And now in less than 50 years were in our third one this time around ....

This is really all about in my view, its all about politics. Its all about hurting the president , hurting his reputation. They dislike him intensely. Always ready if we need, if things don t go as planned. and so we ll reset and hopefully you get to try again tomorrow. laurel, i hadn t even considered the idea that your replacement could be grounded. what did you have to do at that point? just circled so i was onboard space station. so i just stayed on space station and kept working until she arrived. so it s about it, i think five or six day delay but it s definitely, you know, you get you get ready for a moment and then that moment doesn t happen and it s always hard, but you have to very quickly pivot and look at the situation that you have in front of you and keep on working the problem yes. i mean, you astronauts are such cool cucumbers. it s incredible that you re, you re so flexible for whatever eventuality happens, but you just said that it might launch tomorrow and i know that that was another planned launch. state if today was scrubbed is ....

Just we had this sense that women were mobilized after the dobbs decision, but for me, it was about how we operationalize this, how do we make sure we basically don t screw this up, that we use this as our chance to really change the tide on the midterms. so i founded my pac her time based on the idea that it s young women who can and will change politics, and if this moment doesn t mobilize us, nothing will. i felt in my soul young women were mad, would show up and change the projection of the midterms and we saw it in kansas, new york, alaska, national polling. but we needed that energy to c order to basically codify roe, right, to if we lose the house, then not going to be ab codify roe. the republicans will move forward on this national ban. and women across the country were going to move closer to ....
