Black History Month spotlighted in Worcester

WORCESTER – In honor of Black History Month, a comprehensive website features a virtual exhibit of Rediscovering an American Community of Color: The Photographs of William Bullard, 1897-1917, an exhibition at the Worcester Art Museum from October 2017 to February 2018. This is among several programs and events promoted by the city of Worcester.
Itinerant photographer William Bullard left behind a trove of over 5,400 glass negatives at the time of his death in 1918. Bullard took photos of over 230 portraits of African Americans and Native Americans, mostly from the Beaver Brook community in Worcester.
Many of the events are being done in collaboration with other cultural institutions throughout the city in celebration of Black History Month in February.  ....
