One Kenya Alliance shrugs off project tag reports

One Kenya Alliance has dismissed claims of being a 2022 project of State mandarins keen on influencing President Uhuru Kenyatta’s succession.
Amani National Congress (ANC) party leader Musalia Mudavadi – a principal of the new outfit – yesterday said those pushing the ‘false’ narrative were politicians scared of the traction the alliance is gaining, especially after winning three by-elections in Western and Ukambani regions.
Mudavadi said certain politicians who had all along believed they would take over from Uhuru have resorted to propaganda after realising their chances of occupying State House were dwindling by day.

One Kenya Alliance has hinted at bringing more key figures on board in a fresh bid to craft a strong political outfit for the 2022 presidential contest.
The alliance that brings together ANC's Musalia Mudavadi, Wiper’s Kalonzo Musyoka, Kanu boss and Baringo Senator Gideon Moi and Ford Kenya leader Moses Wetangúla, announced plans to “strengthen and broaden” the outfit.

ODM leader Raila Odinga yesterday rallied party MCAs to pass the referendum Bill.
The MCAs declared their support for the Constitution of Kenya (Amendment) Bill, 2020 but want the Sh2 million car grant promised by President Uhuru Kenyatta fast tracked.
Raila met the MCAs at Cooperative University in Karen, Nairobi, yesterday alongside constitutional experts who explained benefits of the proposed law changes in strengthening devolution, including the ward development fund and increased county allocations from 15 per cent to 35 per cent.

Key political parties are scrambling to ride on the political wave created by the push to amend the Constitution as part of their 2022 game plan.
Political figures with ambition for the presidency have already dashed to the grassroots to spearhead campaigns in support of the changes proposed by the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) with their eyes fixed on the next General Election.
The plot by the political outfits is to align with their formation in support of the document while selling their parties and candidates for various seats using euphoria on anticipated referendum.
