Jul 29, 2021 Jeers to the circumstances that have forced the peer recovery center, Friendship Fairmont, to be without a home. After a dust-up involving its clientele and participants of the Day Report Center in the Marion County Courthouse Annex, Friendship Fairmont is now having trouble with the building to which itâs moving into at 10 Locust Ave. This program has proven it is needed and is offering a valuable service to Fairmont. Cheers to the Marion County Communities of Shalom Inc. and the Fairmont Human Rights Commission and other organizations and volunteers who came together to host the recent resource fair dubbed Building Bridges of Respect. The two-day event focused on inclusion, diversity and anti-racism, as well as how to understand stigma among those fighting addiction. ....

Photo by Ron Nickel FAIRMONT â Following in the footsteps of his grandfather Billy Graham, Will Graham has come to Fairmont to preach the gospel. In his three-day crusade, held at Fairmont State Universityâs Duvall-Rosier Field, Grahamâs Mountain State Celebration has proven to be a success. Fairmont is one of only four United States cities chosen to host Will Grahamâs 2021 crusade. Fairmont was on the schedule for 2020 â one of only two cities â but as with most events during 2020, the event was postponed until this year. So last yearâs travel plan was added to this yearâs, giving Graham a four-city tour, rather than two. ....

Led by evangelist Will Graham, the free, three-day event will take place at Duvall-Rosier Field on the campus of Fairmont State University in July. The family-friendly event is open to anyone. Graham is the grandson of the popular evangelist Rev. Billy Graham. âWeâre going to have free concerts by award-winning Christian artists and bands, and then, very much like Billy Graham, Will Graham will get up and share a brief message about how people can find hope in a relationship with Jesus Christ,â said BJ Rogers, who is directing the Celebration on behalf of the Billy Grah ....
