A father, grandfather and great-grandfather, Mr Winter fell ill around Christmas time with a form of dementia and died on Saturday 20th February. It was Mr Winter’s great-grandfather Frederick who created the Fred Winter store, originally situated in Stratford High Street, in 1858. Coverack came out to honour a man who was "the very glue that brings the community together" when he passed their doors for the final time last week. Ben Roskilly was described as "part of the bedrock of Coverack" at his funeral last Wednesday, following his death at the age of 88 earlier this month.
