There was a multivortex tornado. when we re talking about more than one funnel there, that can cause very chaotic destruction and spotty from place to place as well. this stayed on the ground for a long period of time and moved through the downtown center and continued through many of the suburbs as well. so, it was a large destructive tornado on doppler radar. we could see what we see a debris ball, which is a strong signature, that things like those trees there you can see it, that bright pink ball you can see near the center of your screen. that tells us there are things like roofs and wood and trees all getting thrown up well into the atmosphere. in fact, you know, could be up there several thousand feet. so, when you see a signature like that, you know how serious this situation is. to go through a populated area like this, just so sad and so devastating. now, there s very little communication. a lot of people are having ....

A storm here that produced three deaths in the prattville, alabama. it moved on and continued to produce damage all the way across southern alabama. here is another storm yesterday. this is interesting because this is down near jackson, mississippi. southwest, south central mississippi. that same super cell, alex, the parent storm that produced the tornado, that s what a super cell is, moved all the way across mississippi and up to tuscaloosa where i am this morning. you can trace the damage here behind me to that super cell that produced that tornado back in jackson, mississippi. and then perhaps the wildest view of all coming a couple of days ago with this multivortex tornado. these are twin or multiple tornadoes rotating around the base of the parent super cell, all right. this thing is spinning these tornadoes around itself, while moving along. we think through research that oftentimes you see damage to one house and not the other. the reason for that is because of these multivorte ....
