Ducey Issues Emergency Declaration For Flagstaff Floods

It makes up to $200,000 available for response efforts. It comes after several area roads below the 2019 Museum Fire burn scar flowed with monsoon runoff after inches of rain fell in short periods of time on Tuesday and Wednesday.
Flagstaff Mayor Paul Deasy and Coconino County Board of Supervisors Chair Matt Ryan yesterday declared states of emergency to expand emergency funds and request assistance from the state.
Meanwhile, Coconino County flood officials say a dozen homes and garages have sustained interior flooding in the Museum Flood Area along with 15 homes in the Upper East Flagstaff area. ....

FLAGSTAFF, AZ — A State of Emergency has been declared in Coconino County as flash floods continue to impact parts of the county.
Coconino County officials say flood areas from the Museum Fire Burn Area and other parts of Flagstaff continue to be dangerous due to the floods.
Officials say declaring a State of Emergency will allow them to distribute emergency funds from more sources and request assistance from the State. ....

Coconino County Officials Assess Flooding Damage In East Flagstaff

Of nearly 60 homes on Grandview Avenue that were part of the inspection three suffered impacts to the interior and one home experienced garage and interior flooding. County and city crews are working to clear debris from channels as more monsoon rains are expected throughout the week.
Officials are asking residents not to park in flood-prone streets and to clear debris from under their engines if they have parked in the street during a flood. Pre-filled sandbags are available to residents at Coconino County Health and Human Services. A Museum Flood Area call center has also been set up at (928) 679-8525. ....

Areas In The Museum Fire Flood Area Saw A Second Day Of Flooding, This Time It Was More Widespread – KAFF News – Flagstaff


Residents in the Museum Fire Flood Area of north Flagstaff saw a second day of flooding Wednesday and this time it was more wide spread. The flooding began at around 2 p.m. with flood waters starting in Mount Elden Estates then the county put Sunnyside, Paradise and Grandview into shelter-in-place. Water again rushed across Cedar Avenue and into Sunnyside. This time flood waters hit the upper Greenlaw area of Flagstaff, outside of the Museum Fire burn area. County flood officials say more than two-and-a-half inches of rain was recorded in the Skyline, upper and lower Greenlaw, Swiss Manor and the Fanning areas, which resulted in significant flooding. Water and debris rushed through washes and into front yards of several homes. Some homes had water and debris into garages and backyards. Lockett Drive was closed for a short time due to water and debris covering the road. One video showed a gushing river of water running down the street, taking a car with it. Water also flood ....
