Jawan to cover top to bottom of nation running 4300 kms in 50 days to enter record books
Jalandhar, Apr 6 (UNI) Two legs marathon and the distance is 4300 kms ! In a bid to make it to the Guinness Book of World records, an Indian Army soldier, Naik Velu P, has on Tuesday started ultra-marathon from Srinagar to Kanyakumari and aims to complete huge distance within 50 days.
NaikVelu P, an ultra-marathoner, was given a grand welcome by Brigadier V Anand, Commandant and all ranks at Military Hospital Jalandhar on 05 April 2021 on his arrival from Srinagar via Pathankot. NaikVelu P born on 21 April 1991 at Krishnagiri (Tamil Nadu) joined Indian Army in December 2011 (AMC).

Army soldier Naik Velu P is all set to make his 30th birthday memorable as he left for a mission to enter his name in the Guinness Book of World Records by running from Kashmir to Kanyakumari, a distance of about 4,300 km, under 50 days.
Last year in June, Velu P became the first Indian ultra-runner to complete 1,600 km in just 17 days, a feat which is in the process of being entered as an Asian record.
"Naik Velu, serving as a Nursing Assistant in the 60 Para Field Hospital, is an ultra marathoner who is attempting a Guinness world record by running from Kashmir to Kanyakumari for a distance of about 4,300 km under 50 days," Udhampur-based Army Public Relations Officer (PRO) Lt Col Abhinav Navneet said.

Velu P was given a grand welcome by Brigadier KJ Singh, Commandant and the all ranks at 166 Military Hospital, Jammu.
Army soldier Naik Velu P is attempting to get his name etched into the Guinness World Records by covering 4,300 km in less than 50 days. Naik Velu would be running around 70-100 km per day and covering the distance of 4,300 km from Kashmir to Kanyakumari.
