Applegreen has offered a year’s worth of free fuel to the parents of a baby girl who made an ‘unexpected’ arrival on the forecourt of the company’s outlet in Caragh, just over a week ago.
Expectant parents John Feane and Naomi Galvin got the surprise of their lives last Tuesday night, February 3 when, en route home from a check-up at the Coombe Hospital in Dublin, they realised that baby Ellie was in more of a rush than they had realised.

The chaotic scene unfolded as John was frantically trying to reach the Coombe Hospital in Dublin but was forced to pull in just ten minutes into the hour-long journey in Carragh after realising they were not going to make it to the hospital.
To mark an eventful night, Applegreen gifted John and Naomi with free fuel for a year along with some birthday treats for baby Ellie.

A SHOCKED dad has told how his “superwoman” wife delivered their baby boy in the car while they raced to hospital.
Dad-of-two Tommy Davidson said son Jacob’s “fast and furious” arrival came just minutes after he and wife Stephanie got into the car to head to the Rotunda Hospital from their Meath home on Friday afternoon.

The father of a baby girl born at an Applegreen Service station in Kildare last night has said he was preparing to deliver the baby himself when paramedics arrived.
Parents Naomi Galvin and John Fearne had just returned from a check-up at the Coombe Hospital in Dublin when baby Ellie decided to make her unexpected entrance to the world.
On
Newstalk Breakfast this morning, John said there were just minutes between the paramedics arriving and Ellie coming into the world.

A local ambulance crew from Edenderry were under the pump on Wednesday as they were tasked with helping deliver a baby at a petrol station.
The Offaly crew responded to the scene at the Applegreen Service Station in Caragh, Co Kildare where an expectant mother, Naomi Galvin, had unexpectedly gone into labour, when she and partner John Feane were on their way to the Coombe hospital in Dubln.
Baby Ellie was delivered at around 6pm on Wednesday, February 3.  
"We went from the he he, ho ho, classic kind of noises that a pegnant lady makes to the full on screaming - I need pain relief now kind of situation," John told Brian Dobson on RTE Radio 1.

Girl born at petrol station in 'safe hands' at hospital


Members of the National Ambulance Service assisted in the delivery of a baby girl at the Applegreen Service Station outside Naas, Co Kildare yesterday evening.
Parents John Feane and Naomi Galvin were returning from a check-up at the Coombe Hospital in Dublin when baby Ellie decided to make her entrance into the world at the service station in Caragh.
Mr Feane said: "We got the all clear to go home, went home and on the way we got a flat tyre.
"I went and got the car fixed pretty quickly, came back and Naomi said 'you know what John, there's a few movements going on here'."

A STUNNED dad has told of his delight after his pregnant wife gave birth in the front seat of his jeep in a scene "like something out of The Snapper".
Mum-of-five Naomi Galvin, 27, miraculously gave birth to baby Ellie with her feet up on the dashboard outside an Applegreen petrol station in Co Kildare on Wednesday night.
