Morrison Bridge goes pink for breast cancer

PORTLAND Vancouver-based Pink Lemonade Project and other local breast cancer organizations are turning the Morrison Bridge in Portland pink starting Sunday.
The bridge will stay pink through Feb. 21, because February is National Cancer Awareness Month. The goal is a visual reminder about the importance of breast health.
“Data released from the National Cancer Institute and others show that there was a dramatic drop in screening mammograms since March 2020, partly due to individual concerns about exposure to the COVID-19 virus. The Portland-Vancouver area is home to many respected breast cancer support organizations, and we want to work together this year, and in the future, and get the word out across the community about the importance of breast cancer services,” said Susan Stearns, CEO of Pink Lemonade Project. ....
