New wheat variety of high genetic quality released in Peru | News | ANDINA

The Ministry of Agrarian Development and Irrigation (Midagri) has approved the release of INIA 440 K anchareq a new bread wheat variety of high genetic quality developed by the National Institute of Agrarian Innovation (INIA).
The release of this new wheat variety was made official by Administrative Resolution No. 009-2021-INIA, published on Tuesday in the official gazette El Peruano.
INIA 440 K anchareq is a new variety of bread wheat with high genetic value, which can increase the income of small and medium scale farmers in Cusco and Apurimac regions.
In this regard, Agrarian Development and Irrigation Minister Federico Tenorio explained that the innovative variety of this Peruvian Andean grain will improve production profitability by 30% for the benefit of over 80,000 farming families in the country. ....
