FINALLY GETTING THEIR FIRST DOSES. IT’S A BIG DAY FOR RESIDENTS AT CAREFREE SENIOR LIVING IN SACRAMENTO. MONTHS AFTER WAITING FOR THE COVID- VACCINE, THESE SENIORS ARE FINALLY GETTING THEIR FIRST DOSE. IT’S GOOD THAT WE GOT IT TODAY. GET IT OVER WITH AND BE SAFER. >> REMEMBER 95-YEAR-OLD RITA? WE INTRODUCED YOU TO HER BACK IN FEBRUARY. SHE WAS UNABLE TO SAFELY LEAVE THE FACILITY TO GET THE VACCINE. WE REACH OUT TO THE CITY, COUNTY, AND STATE FOR ANSWERS. THE RESPONSE WAS IMMEDIATE. >> THAT WAS AMAZING. THANK YOU SO MUCH. >> THIS MORNING, PARATRANSIT BUSES ARRIVED TO PICK THEM UP AND TAKE THEM TO A SITE AT NATOMAS HIGH SCHOOL. NURSES BOARDED THE BUS TO GIVE INJECTIONS, AND MONITORED EVERYONE FOR FIFTEEN MINUTES. >> THEY CAME AROUND AND GET OUR VACCINATION IN, SAID, RELAX YOUR SHOULDER. NEVER FELT A THING AFTER SHE GOT DONE. >> TWO BUSES PICKED UP REGISTERED PASSENGERS EVERY THIRTY MINUTES. >> THEY DON’T HAVE TO WORRY ABOUT GETTING ON AND OFF, IT KEEPS A SEAMLESS PROCESS FOR THE SENIOR. BUT IT ALSO MAKES A FASTER PROCESS FOR THE CINIC. >> THE EFFORT, PART OF A COLLABORATION BETWEEN SACRAMENTO MAYOR PRO TEM ANGELIQUE ASHBY’S OFFICE, THE NATOMAS UNIFIED SCHOOL DISTRICT, AND PARATRANSIT.
