(Screenshot from DepEd Ilocos' livestream) MALASIQUI, Pangasinan - Some 142,027 learners in the Ilocos Region have availed of the early registration for the school year 2022-2023 of the Department of Education (DepEd) as of April 26. In a forum hosted by the DepEd Ilocos regional office, Joey Pimental, statistician of the policy, planning, and research division, said that of the total number, 30,273 enrolled in Kindergarten, 47,878 in Grade 1, 30,525 in Grade 7, and 33,351 in Grade 11. Those that preregistered were from the 2,999 schools from the four provinces of the Ilocos Region, he said. Some 86,177 were logged in Pangasinan, 12,609 in Ilocos Norte, 24,577 in Ilocos Sur, and 18,664 in La Union. Department of Education Logo (PNA file photo) GENERAL SANTOS CITY - The Department of Education in Soccsksargen (DepEd-12) is preparing 258 schools for the "progressive expansion" of limited in-person classes in the region, an education official here said Monday. In a text message, Glenn Arellano Bisnar, DepEd-12 chief education supervisor of policy, planning, and research division, said they are ready to submit findings to the DepEd central office in Manila on the pilot phase of in-person classes from November 15 to December 17 last year. Under the pilot phase, 24 schools participating from Grade 1 to Grade 3 and senior high school were allowed to attend limited in-person classes. Currently, he noted that 258 schools in Soccsksargen are ready for the progressive expansion of face-to-face (F2F) classes starting this month.
