Scientists develop new method to create stabl

<p>Next-generation solar materials are cheaper and more sustainable to produce than traditional silicon solar cells, but hurdles remain in making the devices durable enough to withstand real-world conditions. A new technique developed by a team of international scientists could simplify the development of efficient and stable perovskite solar cells, named for their unique crystalline structure that excels at absorbing visible light.</p>

EarthTalks: Dzade to discuss engineering for enhanced thin-film solar cells

Nelson Dzade, assistant professor of energy and mineral engineering at Penn State, will present a talk titled "The interface is still the device: engineering it for enhanced thin film solar cell performance" at 4 p.m. Monday, Oct. 31, in 112 Walker Building at University Park and via Zoom. Dzade’s talk, which is free and open to the public, is part of the fall 2022 EarthTalks series supported by Penn State’s Earth and Environmental Systems Institute.

The Earth and Environmental Systems Institute's EarthTalks series returns and will explore the development of solar energy through multiple, and intersecting, lenses. The fall series resumes on Sept. 19 and continues through Nov. 14. Talks will take place at 4 p.m. on Mondays in 112 Walker Building.
