But, with such museums remaining closed until at least May 17, if all goes well with the end of the coronavirus pandemic, the initiative will still be able to reach out to a wide, on-the-street audience.

Network Ryde act as an Open Award Centre on the Isle of Wight where young people can take part in the scheme.  The DofE awards support young people to learn and develop skills by completing four sections to receive their bronze, silver and gold awards. This year's was held virtually. Two Isle of Wight councillors have been fighting it out to find this year's most prolific pancake tosser. Mayor of Ryde, Cllr Michael Lilley and Cllr Wayne Whittle went head to head once again in their annual challenge. The contest, which normally takes place at Ryde Foodbank, was held virtually this year because of the pandemic.

Councillors Michael Lilley (main pic) and Wayne Whittle (inset, right) are battling for this year's pancake bragging rights to raise money for Ryde food projects. Two Ryde Councillors will go head-to-head in a pancake flipping competition today (Tuesday) to raise awareness and funds for Ryde food projects that have supported the community through the pandemic.
