In a game with potential MINK League playoff implications, the Jefferson City Renegades lost a lead late before falling to the Nevada Griffons 9-8 in 12 innings Tuesday night. The Renegades were in control, but a six-run seventh inning for the Griffons changed everything.
It wasn’t a must-win game the Jefferson City Renegades. But it would have been nice to get a victory. The Nevada Griffons scored a run in the top of the eighth inning Monday night to get past the Renegades 7-6 in MINK League action at Vivion Field. With the win, the Griffons cut the gap in the South Division to three games behind the Renegades for the final playoff spot in the South Division in the final week of the regular season.
It was another good starting pitching performance that didn’t result in a win Sunday night for the Jefferson City Renegades. Carter Gorling threw seven strong innings for the Renegades, but the Joplin Outlaws hit a game-tying home run in the bottom of the ninth inning and outlasted Jefferson City for a 5-4 victory in 13 innings in MINK League action at Joe Becker Stadium.
