Coronavirus surge: Around 9 lakh people vaccinated against COVID-19 in Chennai

Coronavirus in Chennai: In order to further curb the spread, all measures including door-to-door surveillance, vaccination camps will be set up by the Chennai Corporation.

Chennai: Amid a massive upsurge in COVID-19 cases in Tamil Nadu s Chennai, the vaccination drive has seen positive results in the state. According to Greater Chennai Corporation, 10 lakh COVID-19 vaccine shots have been administered as of Wednesday. In Chennai alone, around nine lakh people have been inoculated against the deadly contagious virus.
According to corporation commissioner G Prakash, Chennai has an 80 lakh population. Also, many have completed the second doses of the coronavirus vaccine in the city. ....

Chennai News: Following the surge in the number of Covid-19 cases, the city corporation on Saturday had announced violating norms will be warned and fined the first two times.

Chennai: The coronavirus cases are surging at an alarming rate in the country, including the southern state, Tamil Nadu. On Sunday, Tamil Nadu recorded more than 1977 fresh COVID-19 cases in the last 24 hours.
The Chennai Municipal Corporation on Sunday had also ordered to bring back some old rules to tackle the second wave of COVID-19 menace. As per the report, 350 Chennai civic body staff have been deployed from Saturday for stricter implementation of Covid safety protocols and SOPs. ....

Tamil Nadu: Amid Covid-19 surge, beaches in Chennai to remain closed for public on weekends

As per the latest data by the MoHFW, Chennai reported 1,977 new COVID-19 cases in the last 24 hours, and the active cases tally now touched 14,382.

Chennai: As several states are witnessing a surge in the number of daily coronavirus cases, the state government on Sunday had announced that all beaches in Chennai, Chengalpet, and Kanchipuram districts will be closed on weekends and all government holidays from April 11. As per the report, according to new COVID-19 protocols, religious places can stay open up to 10 pm provided they follow all norms.
According to an official release, people are not allowed to held religious congregation and occupancy in the cinema halls and multiplexes can hold shows at 50 per cent of its capacity. ....
