The trendline for cases of missing kids is ticking upward in Montgomery County, where 936 had been reported missing this year. Of those, 15 cases remain open.

Compared to this time last year, auto thefts are up 84% in Montgomery County, 118% in D.C. and a staggering 180% in Prince George's County.

So far this year more than 1,000 cars have been stolen in Montgomery County, Maryland compared to about 500 this time last year.

The revised car theft unit will zero in on hotspots like Silver Spring, Wheaton, and Bethesda.
