Angola bicyclist struck, killed by dump truck
ANGOLA — Retired school teacher and Trine University administrator Susah Stroh, 67, of Angola, died from injuries sustained when the bicycle she was riding was struck by a dump truck Tuesday afternoon on Wendell Jacob Avenue near Glendarin Golf Course in Angola.
Police said Stroh was struck by a Steuben County Highway Department dump truck, driven by Jared Perkins, 43, of Montgomery, Michigan.
Alcohol and drugs are not suspected in the crash. The crash remains under investigation, according to the Angola Police Department.
Kendallville shooting suspect appears in court

Clinic volunteers toasted for 'making a difference'


ROME CITY — The Noble County Health Department rolled out the red carpet Thursday night for the 250 volunteers who gave their time and talent since December to vaccinate their fellow citizens against COVID-19 at the county’s clinic at the Noble County Public Library in Albion.
Volunteers arrived at Sylvan Cellars for a dinner of chicken and pork chops, topped off with cake decorated with “You made a difference!!” and “Together we can do so much!”
Packets of coffee from Turning Point Coffee in Ligonier and Country Roads Coffee in Albion were tucked inside insulated travel mugs given to all volunteers when they arrived.

Noble County vaccine clinic set next 2 Saturdays

Noble County will accept walk-ins at the COVID Vaccine Clinic this Saturday and next.
The clinic will be open from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. at the Noble County Public Library in Albion, the county EMA & 911 center said today.
Appointments are preferred and can be made by going to ourshot.in.gov or by calling 211.
The clinic will be offering the Moderna vaccine, which is two shots four weeks apart. A government-issued ID card is not needed for vaccination, the department said.
To register, call the COVID Registration Hotline at 260-508-0232 on Monday, Friday and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and on Wednesday from noon until 8 p.m.
