PM Orbán: Hungary to Be Among First Three Countries to Have Vanquished Pandemic
Prime Minister Viktor Orbán on Friday called on Hungarians to get vaccinated against the coronavirus, saying vaccination was a matter of individual responsibility and protection, and that it saved lives.
Orbán told public broadcaster Kossuth Radio that more than 3.145 million Hungarians had already received their first jab and over 1.3 million received both.

The decision to reopen kindergartens and grades 1-4 of elementary schools from April 19 was informed by the fact that the number of children in creches jumped in the past ten days, and the fact that the armed forces concluded disinfecting schools. Gov't Spox Hits Back at Tusk Over Criticism of Hungary's 'Illiberal' Handling of Pandemic

Zoltan Kovács, the state secretary for international communications and relations, has hit back at European People’s Party leader Donald Tusk on Twitter on Thursday, saying his latest criticism of Hungary made him sound “like the leader of the Liberals”.

The Hungarian government’s measures taken to tackle the health and economic impacts of the coronavirus pandemic have proved to be effective, the minister of foreign affairs and trade said on Monday. Péter Szijjártó said that the government had “not taken the textbook approach; it wanted more than the EU’s vaccine purchases and it did not […]Continue reading ....

Hungarian Opinions on Vaccination and Handling of Pandemic Influenced by Politics

Hungarian Opinions on Vaccination and Handling of Pandemic Influenced by Politics
Recent surveys confirm a correlation between the political views of Hungarians and their opinions on pandemic operations and vaccination. What is also interesting is the way in which different research institutes measure and present their findings, possibly in order to prove certain political statements.
Leftist daily Népszava stated based on a survey by the left-leaning Publicus Institute that opposition supporters are more in favor of vaccination than supporters of Fidesz, while pro-government Mandiner, based on the survey of the pro-Fidesz Nézőpont Institute, said the same for Fidesz supporters. Although the two news outlets make completely conflicting statements up front, their findings say a lot about opinions among Hungary’s population. ....
