The North Wayne Ambulance Service in Cisne has announced the service will be closing down. The closure is due to staffing shortages. With those shortages, officials with North Wayne Ambulance Service are not able to provide 24/7 EMS coverage that is mandated by the state. The North Wayne Schools are counting down to the end of the year. In a release on the school district's Facebook page, only 5 full weeks of school remain. Superintendent Adam Ellis in a statement says, "School violence continues to be at the forefront of decision making at school districts across the country. The Wayne County Board is set to meet this at 7 Thursday Evening at the Wayne County Courthouse Meeting Room. After roll call and the approval of January Minutes, the board will hear from the Wayne County Humane Society as well as from North Wayne Ambulance. Outside of the office and committee reports, the only thing under new business is American Rescue Plan Act items, if any are on the list. Officials also have an executive session listed for personnel matters. The meeting is open to the public.
