This request comes after Sununu last year requested and obtained $1.4 million for the Northern Border Alliance Program for state police, local police, border patrol and fish and game to work together on New Hampshire’s border with Canada.
CONCORD — Gov. Chris Sununu wants to send a 15-member New Hampshire National Guard unit to support Texas’s efforts to shore up security at the southern border.
Proposed legislation would require law enforcement to keep tabs on their activity near the New Hampshire and Canadian border.
The data obtained by the ACLU of New Hampshire shows that during the October 2022 through January 2023 timeframe when state officials suggested there was “a crisis” at the border with Canada, there was only one encounter in New Hampshire.
