Finding the new COVID-19 vaccine has posed a real challenge for some Houstonians. If you're feeling discouraged, take heart. Just after Minute Maid Park and NRG Parkserved as mass vaccinations hubs this past week, the state of Texas is now rolling out additional vaccination hubs for the Houston area.

Coronavirus Texas: Houston Health Department 'overbooked' COVID-19 vaccine appointments


ABC13's Erik Barajas took your COVID-19 questions for a town hall, featuring Mayor Turner, Dr. David Persse and Dr. Sherri Onyiego.
ABC13 put in an inquiry with the Mayor's office and the city's health department regarding the alleged 'glitch' in the system. This was the response from a spokesperson with the Houston Health Department:
"Our vaccine supply info is on our website. We scheduled approx 5k appointments today but went over.
On January 14, the health department received an additional 8,200 doses of vaccine, bringing its total to 30,350.
As of January 15, the department administered a total of 21,025 doses at locations including Minute Maid Park, Bayou City Event Center, its Northside, La Nueva Casa de Amigos, Sharpstown and Sunnyside health centers, the JW Peavy Senior Center, and its Acres Homes, Hiram Clarke and Magnolia multi-service centers.

Coronavirus vaccine: Memorial Hermann adds 2K extra slots for drive-thru COVID-19 vaccine clinic at NRG Park


HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) -- The extra 2,000 slots Memorial Hermann added for NRG's COVID-19 vaccine drive-thru clinic this weekend are now full.
After having all of its COVID-19 vaccine drive-thru clinic slots fill up fast, Memorial Hermann announced around 6 p.m. on Friday it will open extra ones.
The spots were added to the schedule for Jan. 16 and Jan. 17, according to a release from the hospital. After about an hour, the hospital announced they had all been taken.
Memorial Hermann is teaming up with NRG Park to offer a COVID-19 vaccine drive-thru clinic on Thursday, but all the available appointments have been reserved.

Memorial Hermann is teaming up with NRG Park to offer a COVID-19 vaccine drive-thru clinic this week. Approximately 13,000 people who are 65 or older, which is based on the state's vaccine guidelines, are expected to get a dose during this four-day event.
