Two University of Florida students enjoying a picnic Tuesday near Lake Alice were joined by an unexpected guest — an alligator. The alligator came out of the water, scared the students off, sat on their picnic blanket and proceeded to eat their food, UF police said. Alligator trappers Curtis Robinson and Ron Sanderson, both contractors with the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission Statewide Nuisance Alligator Program, were called out later that day in response.
