Chinese military bodies, state-run artificial intelligence research institutes, and elite universities in China have been purchasing Nvidia semiconductors that are banned from export to China by the U.S.

Nvidia: "What we cannot allow them to ship is the most sophisticated, highest-processing power AI chips, which would enable China to train their frontier models," she added.
