Lucknow: Amid the second wave of the COVID-19 pandemic, the Board of High School and Intermediate Education, Uttar Pradesh is all set to conduct the board examinations of class 12 for academic session 2020-21.
The education department is prepared to conduct the board examination as it has already printed the question papers and arranged 8,513 examination centres to maintain the COVID-19 protocols, according to reports.

CBSE Class 12 Board: ABVP writes to Education Minister, suggests open book exams, other alternatives
The Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) has submitted a memorandum to Union Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank, suggesting options including open book tests for Class 12 board students. The development comes days after Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh chaired a high-level meeting to discuss various proposals with the states, in the presence of state education ministers and officials, besides Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank, Prakash Javadekar and Smriti Irani. A decision will be announced on or by June 1, 2021. 
Central govt as well as state govts must consider the security and future of the students before holding the Class 12 exams that are pending due to the COVID-19 pandemic. A section of students and parents have been demanding cancellation of Class 12 board exams in view of the COVID-19 pandemic situation. Speculations were rife that a decision in this regard could be taken at a meeting chaired by Union Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal today. However, there has been no decision so far. 
Raising concerns of the students, the India Wide Parents Association, spearheaded by Anubha Shrivastava Sahai, wrote a letter to Prime Minister s Office on Monday. She suggested that students be assessed and evaluated via internal assessment. Sahai, a lawyer and child rights activist, voiced against postponement of the exams as it could cause further anxiety, mental stress and depression among students .   ....
