In observance of Missouriâs bicentennial on Aug. 10, the Louisiana Area Historical Museum is opening an exhibit of flags that have flown over the state from the 1700s to today. Pictured is museum board member Stephen Moss unfurling a banner used at the time of the Lewis and Clark Corps of Discovery expedition. Nine flags and a Native American display will be featured in the museumâs Stark Brothers Nurseries room, which has a high ceiling. Plaques underneath will offer details about each ensign. The first chance people will have to see the exhibit is from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday, Aug. 7. The museum is at 304 Georgia Street and there is no admission charge.Â
