Photo: PTI Politics09/Jan/2021 Madhavsinh Solanki, who passed away at the ripe old age of 93 on Saturday, will be remembered for being the precursor to what later came to be known as Mandal politics under V.P. Singhâs prime ministership which sought to empower the other backward classes (OBCs). He became Gujarat’s chief minister after leading the Congress to win 142 assembly seats in 1980, followed by 149 seats in 1985. Keen political watchers attribute Solankiâs success to uniting backward castes, Dalits, Adivasis and Muslims. ....
PRAYAGRAJ: Uttar Pradesh Higher Education Service Commission (UPHESC) has begun preparations for recruiting 2,016 assistant professors against vacant posts in 241 unaided degree colleges across the state. The commission has received requisitions regarding the vacant posts from the colleges and is now selecting a private agency that it would partner with for conducting the recruitment exam, said officials. Once the agency is decided, the advertisement for recruitment process is likely to be issued in the last week of December or the first half of January 2021, they added. The 2,016 posts include 803 of general category, 571 reserved for OBC candidates, 441 for SC candidates, 17 ST and 184 for EWS category candidates, they added. ....

Been able to become parents. why would you advocate for a bill that would block women like me from the essential care that helped me to become a mother, provides affordable cancer screenings for thousands and thousands of people and especially for those who live in the many parts of this country that are not served by kmoont health centers? a couple things. un, first, most planned parenthood settings are in urban areas. urban areas that have lots of ob/gyn s. i suspect you did not get your child delivered by the doctor who saw you at planned parenthood. you went someplace else and you had another obc. now, it turns out the folks who don t have access to those cancer screenings live in rural areas. they live in areas where there are not enough physicians. so the ideas that we want someone to have to drive a lower income person drive three hours to a planned parenthood facility there to get her screening or ....
