12. It is important to note that the World Bank financial intervention in this Ndiegoro project is a loan as against a grant. The implication is that Abia State Government will pay back the portion of the money invested by the bank on the basis of agreed terms. When you review the debt profile of the state and see a spike, it is because of this project and other necessary similar interventions. It is also wrong for unscrupulous politicians and their hirelings to claim that the project is not a state government project because it is the state government (on behalf of the people of the state) that is ultimately paying while World Bank is only bridging a funding gap. ....

Abia State Governor, Governor Okezie Ikpeazu has congratulated the people of Abia State on the New Year, 2021.
Ikpeazu thanked God for his love and kindness in keeping the people throughout the challenges that came with 2020, especially the pandemic of COVID-19.
Governor Ikpeazu, in a congratulatory message issued to newsmen on Friday by his Chief Press Secretary, Onyebuchi Ememanka, sent his deep condolences to the families of the people who lost their loved ones to the pandemic and other causes.
He further reminded Abians that the pandemic was still very much here with us and was likely to linger for a while, making it extremely imperative for everyone to take issues surrounding their health very seriously. ....

Governor Okezie Ikpeazu of Abia State has promised that his administration will work harder in 2021 in order to better the lives of Abia people, IgbereTV reports.
The governor made this promise in his New Year message to the State on January 1st, 2021.
