I had the pleasure of producing my first analyst report in one of the hottest categories for GigaOm cloud observability. Here are my thoughts on the research process, the technology space, and the vendors, as well as some advice for IT decision-makers.

Right. dr. siegel, let s start with you. when the republicans stripped out the mandate there was no penalty declaring it unconstitutional. something to that because chief justice roberts only voted for this because he was able to maneuver it so it was a tax. now congress has gotten rid of the tax and the mandate stands and it looks more like the penalty it was. of course, there is nothing to collect but that makes it appear unconstitutional. now, the supreme court, which may actually end up seeing this case, steve, may use servability to say it can stand alone. this one size fits all obamacare which is incredibly expensive and has to be subsidized up the wazoo is unpopular. now is an opportunity whatever the supreme court decides, if it gets there, for people to debate this and fix a turkey. it s really a turkey. ....

That s the main issue. we won that issue. other two issues are the servability. meaning if the mandate is unconstitutional, is the rest of the law. the third is the medicaid coercion claim. we did not prevail on that. but there is limited case law. we always believed this would and matter to be determined by the supreme courts. bill: we ll see if that sticks on the calendar that we ll get a chief significance in june of 2012. martha: this is a significant moment. this is the first visit by u.s. senators to libya in the post moammar qaddafi period. we ll keep a close eye on that and let you know if there are any developments out of that. the fact that they are there is ....
