The seventh meeting of the WGIHR will be held from 5–9 February 2024. During this session, relevant stakeholders will be invited to deliver their interventions, followed by a drafting session to negotiate text proposed by the Bureau for some articles and annexes, and, for others, to continue discussing an approach to the development of the proposed text for negotiation.
The sixth meeting of the WGIHR will be held from 7–8 December 2023. During this session, relevant stakeholders will be invited to deliver their interventions, continued by a drafting session to discuss the approach to the proposed amendments following the finalization of the second reading of all articles and consider text proposals from the Bureau, Member States and regional groups.
Progress was made this week on many of the over-300 proposed amendments to the International Health Regulations 2005 (IHR). In this fifth round of intensive discussions, taking place under the aegis of the Working Group on Amendments to the IHR (WGIHR) – which includes the 196 States Parties to the IHR, the European Union and
Governments last week continued their detailed examination of a significant number of the over 300 proposed amendments to the WHO International Health Regulations 2005 (IHR).
