India is hosting the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) summit virtually, with Chinese President Xi Jinping and Pakistan PM Shehbaz Sharif among the invitees. The theme of the summit is 'Towards a SECURE SCO'. India joined the SCO in 2005 and has played an active role in its operations.
India is also holding G20 Summit in September, and a virtual SCO Summit in July will allow the Chinese and Russian Presidents to avoid travelling to India in quick succession.
India has named the upcoming summit ‘Towards a SECURE SCO’.
SCO nations have adopted India's proposal for developing digital public infrastructure (DPI), according to Union Minister for electronics & information technology Ashwini Vaishnaw. India continues to make significant strides aimed at expanding access to digital technologies and services like Aadhaar, Unified Payments Interface, DigiLocker, and CoWin. Indian minister Vaishnaw chaired the meeting of ICT ministers of Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) member countries on Saturday where they unanimously adopted India's proposal.
