IF YOU HAVE ANY INFORMATION ON GONZALES, CALL MASON CITY POLICE OR 9 TRACKING THE COVID-19 VACCINE Share Updated: 12:10 PM CDT Apr 2, 2021 Police in northern Iowa are searching for a suspect in a homicide investigation who is considered armed and dangerous.The Mason City Police Department said officers were called a shooting late Wednesday night in the area of 3rd Street Northwest and North Jefferson Avenue. Arriving officers found one person with a gunshot wound.The victim was transported to a local hospital but later died due to injuries sustained in the shooting, police said. The name of the victim is being withheld pending family notification.According to police, the suspect in the case is 38-year-old Benjamin B. Gonzalez, of Mason City. A warrant has been issued for his arrest. Police said he should be considered armed and dangerous.The Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation is assisting in the case.Anyone with information is asked to contact the Mason City Police Department at 41-421-3636.
