A convicted sex offender from Harnett County has been charged in a multi-state bank robbery spree, one of which happened in the coastal North Carolina town of Carolina Beach. Charles Lee Pingley, 52, of 210 Prince St., Dunn, was indicted by a Tennessee federal grand jury last week on one count of conspiracy to commit bank robbery and two counts of bank robbery.
