The President of the Christian Association of Nigeria, Rev. Olasupo Ayokunle, spoke to journalists recently on the sidelines of the 108th convention of the Nigerian Baptist Convention on his exit as NBC leader and some of the challenges the country is dealing with. TOBI AWORINDE was there.
The President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari (retd.), recently returned from a medical trip. What do you want him to do to solve the problem of insecurity?
My own problem is that I don’t want him to go abroad again for medical treatment. It’s to provide the facilities here in Nigeria. The one he is going to access was not provided by angels. It was provided by human beings who turned around their countries. If we have one well-equipped, research-based diagnostic hospital in Nigeria, that is a starting point. Why can’t we do it? Do we need to be more educated than this to know what a good thing is? My problem is, why the waste ....

Amotekun 'neutralises' leader of armed robbery gang, arrests others

The Western Nigeria Security Network, codenamed Amotekun said it “neutralised” a suspected leader of armed robbery gang and arrested three others who have been terrorising residents of Ijawaya village on Ogbomoso-Oyo Road.
The State Commandant of Amotekun, Col. Olayinka Olayanju (rtd), further stated that Ijawaya village had become a danger zone as a result of incessant attacks by the robbers.
Olayanju stated that, “Ijawaya Village, on the Ogbomoso/Oyo, has been a dark spot as numerous travellers had been robbed there at nights.”
“At the joint patrol of Amotekun Corps, Oyo Zone, yesternight, this man was apprehended with the help of the villagers who led us to the robbers’ hide-out. He has been handed over to the police”. ....

Two women kidnap suspects, on Thursday, Dember 10, 2020, met their waterloo after they and their male accomplice attempted to abduct a four-year-old boy at Iwo, Osun State, a development that prompted an angry mob to burn them to death.
The incident which happened at the market Square called Oja-Oba saw the women being caught and the man managing to escape.
While the villagers embarked on a door-to-door search to find the male suspect, the two women were beaten to a pulp before being set ablaze.
A resident told The Nation the suspects were first taken to the Palace of the Oluwo of Iwo, Oba Abdulrasheed Adewale Akanbi, for him to decide their fate but were told to take them away. ....

Mob Justice: Two Female Kidnappers Set Ablaze In Nigeria [Graphic Photos]


Two women suspected to be kidnappers were burnt to death by an angry mob in Iwo, Osun State on Thursday, December 10.
It was gathered that three persons, one male and two females allegedly kidnapped a 4-year old child at the centre of the market Square called Oja-Oba. The women were caught while the man managed to escape.
The suspects were beaten to pulp before being set ablaze. Meanwhile, residents in the area are said to be combing houses to fish out the third suspect and lynch him.
According to a resident, the suspects were first taken to the Palace of the Oluwo of Iwo, Oba Abdulrasheed Adewale Akanbi, for him to decide their fate but were told to take them away. ....
