The building would have 45-thousand square feet, 30,000 of which would be owned by the city and 15,000 owned by the Okanagan Regional Library. The timeline is to have it built and open by winter 2022. The location is the Westbank Centre at 3731 Old Okanagan Highway and adjacent to the city’s Johnson Bentley Memorial Aquatic Centre (JBMAC), Council has also said a new skate-park will be built as the building will take up the current skate-park location at Old Okanagan and Dobbin. ....
Jan 27, 2021 12:03 AM Russ Byth BC’s public safety minister says a Vancouver couple accused of flying to Yukon to get a COVID−19 vaccine is one of the most ‘despicable’ things he’s heard in a long time. Mike Farnworth says the alleged actions of former Great Canadian Gaming CEO Rodney Baker and his wife (above) show ‘a complete lack of any sort of ethical or moral compass’. Baker earned about 6.7 Million dollars in 2019, and they were fined about 2 thousand bucks for disobeying public health orders. There were 54 new Covid-19 cases reported for Interior Health yesterday as part of 407 province-wide. Another 14 people lost their lives to the virus, with 4 of those in the interior. The number of active cases fell by 132 to 4,260 with 313 people in hospital in BC. ....
