The 5 Towns Jewish Times December 30, 2020 Rabbi Chaim Bruk and his family This past Sunday, right after a remarkably busy Chanukah, Chavie and I took the children with us and traveled to New York for my mother’s tenth yahrzeit. My mother, a’h, passed away on Zayin Teves of 5771 after a 12-year, on-and-off battle with cancer. During her illness, she was cared for by the incredible Dr. Yashar Hirshaut of the Five Towns, and we are eternally grateful to him for his devotion to her health. Though I hadn’t been to New York in close to a year due to COVID, I wasn’t ready to miss this important day. I stood with my siblings at Old Montefiore cemetery and said Kaddish for the woman I loved with every fiber of my being and who loved me so very much.
