Jamaicans Kimeone McLeod of Florida A&M University, Travis Robinson and Dominique Clarke of the University of Albany, and Zayne Palomino of Southern Miss University all set championships records at their respective NCAA Indoor track and field conference championships that ended on Tuesday. A number of indoor conferences started over the weekend, setting the pace for the major championships set to start on Thursday before the NCAA Division 1 and 2.
Jamaica’s high jumper Zayne Palomino of Southern Miss University was second in the men’s high jump on Friday during the Vanderbilt Invitational held in Nashville, Tennessee, clearing 2.13m. Palomino, who was fourth at last year’s JAAA National Senior Championships in Kingston, finished second on count back to American Corvell Todd. Both men opened at 2.04m and cleared on their first attempt. Palomino cleared the next height 2.09m but Todd passed.
