Kiwi indie-pop sensation Benee will kick off her world tour with a concert at the Trafalgar Centre in Nelson.

Fireworks backlash dismays organiser


Nelson City Council spokesman Andrew White said they had received
an application for a firework display from an approved handler and were satisfied that he met certification requirements.
Council staff spoke with the handler and discussed a letter-box drop for nearby residents, which we understand was carried out.
Council received a total of 10 inquiries, including six complaints regarding the display, although two of those complaints were from the same address.
John Ivanof runs Combat Pyrotechnics, the company responsible for Saturday’s display.
His displays have been seen around the region for many years, including Nelson New Year’s celebrations, Opera In The Park and the Lift Off Abel Tasman event.
