KEPALA BATAS: Four teenagers have been detained here for riding their motorcycles in a dangerous manner. North Seberang Prai OCPD Asst Comm Noorzainy Mohd Noor said the suspects, aged between 13 and 16, were arrested during Ops Samseng Jalanan along Jalan Lahar Kepah at about 6.50pm on Saturday (July 24). During the operation, police spotted four motorcycles racing and doing dangerous stunts such as wheelies. They were stopped and detained at the side of Jalan Lahar Kepah, he said in a statement on Sunday (July 25). ACP Noorzainy said three of the suspects are still in secondary school while another, a school dropout, was detained under Section 42(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987 for recklessness. ....

Mohd Norazwan Mohd Nor, 34, and Rozaidy Mazlan, 32, pleaded guilty before Magistrate Jessica Ombou Kakayun to taking part in the race in their respective car at 1am on Sept 22, 2019 along Penampang bypass in front of the ITCC. Norazwan and Rozaidy were fined RM1,300 or one month’s jail each. ADVERTISEMENT Earlier, the prosecution told the court that the duo were spotted committing the offence by traffic police conducting ‘Ops Samseng Jalanan’ at the said area, endangering themselves and other road users. ....
