Orange County Reports 52 New Cases of COVID-19, One Death

SANTA ANA (CNS) - Orange County has reported 52 new cases of COVID-19 and one additional death.
According to numbers released Sunday by the Orange County Health Care Agency, there were 82 coronavirus patients in county hospitals -- up two from Saturday, while the number of those patients in intensive care decreased from 25 to 23.
The county had 34% of its ICU beds and 75% of its ventilators available.
Sunday's numbers brought the county's totals to 254,744 cases and 5,031 fatalities since the pandemic began. The county logged another 7,227 tests for a total of 3,803,939.
Orange County continues to be on track to make it to the least-restrictive yellow tier of the state's economic reopening system if current trends hold up, Orange County CEO Frank Kim said late last week. OC could become eligible to move up as soon as Wednesday.

Orange County Reports 55 New Cases of COVID-19, Two Deaths

SANTA ANA (CNS) - Orange County has reported 55 new cases of COVID-19 and two additional deaths.  
The number of coronavirus patients in county hospitals rose from 75 Friday to 80 on Saturday, and the number of those patients in intensive care increased from 20 to 25, according to the Orange County Health Care Agency.  
The county had 31.8% of its ICU beds and 74% of its ventilators available.  
Saturday's number brought the county's totals to 254,697 cases and 5,030 fatalities since the pandemic began. The county logged another 11,803 tests Saturday for a total of 3,796,712.  
Orange County continues to be on track to make it to the least- restrictive yellow tier of the state's economic reopening system last week if current trends hold up through Sunday, Orange County CEO Frank Kim said. OC could become eligible to move up as soon as Wednesday.

OC Reports Improvement on COVID-19 Cases – NBC Los Angeles

Orange County's COVID-19 positivity rate for its underprivileged ZIP codes hardest hit by the pandemic was lower Thursday than the county's overall positivity, the first time that has happened since the county began measuring the rates. 
“For the first time since measuring our health equity quartile, our test positivity is 0.9%,” compared with 1% for the county's overall positivity rate, Orange County CEO Frank Kim said. “It's the first time those two lines have crossed.”

The county's case rate has also fallen to 1.7 per 100,000 as of Thursday, continuing a trend that has the county meeting the criteria to graduate up to the least-restrictive yellow tier in the state's economic reopening plan.
