(File photo) MANILA - Many areas in the country will continue to experience rain showers caused by the northeast monsoon or "amihan" and the shear line. The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said Friday scattered rain showers and thunderstorms caused by the shear line will prevail over Eastern Visayas, Aklan, Capiz, Albay, Masbate, Sorsogon, Catanduanes, Palawan, and Romblon. Rains due to the northeast monsoon will be experienced over Cagayan Valley, the Cordillera region, the rest of the Bicol Region, Aurora, Quezon, Oriental Mindoro, and Marinduque. These areas may experience flash floods or landslides due to moderate to at times heavy rains, PAGASA said. The rest of Luzon will have light rains also due to the northeast monsoon, while isolated rain showers caused by localized thunderstorms will prevail over the rest of the archipelago. Luzon, the Visayas, and the northern and eastern sections of Mindanao will have moderate to strong winds and moderate to rough seas. The northern, eastern, western, and southern seaboards of Luzon, the seaboards of Southern Luzon, the western seaboards of the Visayas, and the eastern seaboards of Mindanao are forecast to have rough to very rough seas. PAGASA advised fishing boats and other small sea vessels not to venture into the sea, while larger sea vessels have been alerted against big waves.
