(AP) — Navajo County authorities have identified the two people killed when a two-engine plane crashed Friday near Winslow as Phoenix-area residents. Those killed were William Whittington, 70 of Scottsdale, and Stephen Kirkby, 48, of Cave Creek, the county Sheriff's Office said Monday night in a brief statement. No information has been released on possible cause of the crash, which is being investigated by the National Transportation Safety Board and the Federal Aviation Administration. Malta man arrested in drug trafficking investigation FacebookTwitterEmail MALTA — A Malta man was arrested Thursday on drug charges following an investigation into trafficking in Saratoga County, police said. The Sheriff’s Office said Friday that its narcotics unit executed a search warrant at the home of 31-year-old Brendan F. Mitchell, located at 3 Everest Drive, and found packaging materials, scales and a firearm. Mitchell, who was on parole, was accused of distributing cocaine, crack cocaine and heroin throughout the county, they said. He was arrested and charged with criminal sale of a controlled substance, as well as two counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance — all felonies, the Sheriff’s Office said. Mitchell was arraigned and jailed.
