These directions were issued by Union Health Secretary Rajesh Bhushan as he chaired a high-level meeting on Wednesday to review the Covid situation in nine states -- Kerala, West Bengal, Tamil Nadu, Maharashtra, Assam, Andhra Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh, Mizoram and Arunachal Pradesh.
WHO Director-General Dr Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, at a press conference earlier this week, said he is concerned that cases of COVID-19 are climbing -- putting further pressure on stretched health systems and healthcare workers.
Co-chairman of the National Indian Medical Association Covid-19 task force Dr Rajeev Jayadevan has warned that the virus is constantly mutating.
