The Alder Creek Fire burning 8 miles west of Wise River experienced minimal growth yesterday, slowly moving towards the Hwy 43 and Pioneer Scenic Byway corridors, according to an Inciweb update Wednesday morning. Crews focused on stopping the main fire by using tactical fire to remove burnable fuels, but rain has slowed firing operations. Fire engines and hand crews continue to hold and improve containment lines and protect structures today. The fire has burned nearly 5,700 acres. The 23,000-acre Trail Creek Fire burning 20 miles west of Wisdom grew minimally Tuesday, according to a morning update posted on Inciweb. The fire is continuing to push slowly east along the Hwy 43 corridor.

Outlaw Fire burns 30 acres A wildfire burning 10 miles outside of Capitan, New Mexico reportedly consumed about 30 acres of wildland. The fire, dubbed the Outlaw Fire, was detected June 14 near White Oaks and 10 miles northwest of Capitan around 9 p.m. inside the Lincoln National Forest. Officials believed the fire was the result of lightning. It was detected during a flyover of the area by an airplane known to the firefighting community as an air attack aircraft. According to the U.S. Forest Service, four wildland fire engines, one helicopter, two single-engine airtankers, and one large airtanker worked to suppress the fire which was only about 3 acres when first detected.
